Welcome to
Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church

Sunday Service October 24th, 2021

Video will start 5 minutes before the Service begins (10:55 AM).

A Brief Word from the Pastor

The past 19 months have certainly been a challenge as we have worked hard to adapt ministry at RPC to the changes required to keep everyone safe during this pandemic. I know it has been frustrating and disappointing to not be able to return to our normal programming during this time. However, I want to assure you that the Session, Deacons, and all our Committees are hard at work to enhance our existing programs and develop wonderful new programs to put in place once we can return to a more open schedule of operations. Flexibility and optimism are two important traits that we, as a congregation, must continue to foster as we place our hope and trust securely in the Lord. With God's help, we will come out of this time of trial stronger than ever before and prepared to embrace an exciting future for the ministry of RPC!
God's richest blessings,
Due to a dramatic increase in COVID-19 cases
in our community
we are going back to the
New Fellowship Hall
for In-Person and Live-Stream
Worship (including communion)
this Sunday, September 5  11:00am
**Please note:
Everyone is required to wear a mask
during worship until further notice.
Also, if the situation does not improve,
we may have to return to live-stream only.
We will keep you informed.  Thank you!

*Zoom Youth Sunday School*

Our Zoom Youth Sunday School will begin again on Sunday, October 3rd. All middle school and above are welcome. Please contact Jill Scott on her cell phone at 828-447-4690. You can call or leave a text message with your email address so she can send you the zoom link. Thank you!

Doors to be Locked
Please note that the Session, out of concern for the safety of the congregation, has expanded their policy with regard to locking doors on Sunday morning. The glass doors under the portico in the new building and the glass doors in the Garden Room that lead to the memorial garden will continue to be locked at 11:10 a.m. The wooden doors to the Narthex that face North Washington Street will now be locked at 11:15 a.m. We apologize for any inconvenience, but it is the Session's goal to provide the safest environment possible for worship.
A Note for Parents
At the current time, the nursery is not staffed. If infection rates in the community are low, we anticipate that staff will be in place in September when we begin Sunday School. Parents are welcome to use the nursery and playroom area anytime it would be helpful to them and their children. (Just so you know: we love children to be present in worship and think that a crying baby is music to our ears! So please do not feel compelled to take your child out of worship just because they are crying or being loud.) We recognize, however, that there are times when an alternative space may be helpful. In addition, the television in the new lobby is available to view the worship service live on YouTube if that would be of assistance to you.

We are glad you have found us!

See our Facebook page for pictures and videos of the construction.

In 2020, we have built our New fellowship Hall and Nursery!!!

Welcome to Rutherford County

The Blue Ridge Mountains. The South Mountains. We’re home to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and “small town friendly” cities such as Forest City, Rutherfordton, Spindale and more. Come relax and play in the Blue Ridge foothills of Western North Carolina.

A new regional interpretive heritage sign trail allows visitors to explore cultural and national heritage sites in historic small towns and cities across WNC.
We love giving residents and visitors’ different ways to enjoy our county, and one of the best is through our many scenic driving routes!
